In April of this year, I suffered a complete Achilles Tendon Rupture. Anyone that knows me, knows that outdoor activities are a central part of my life; the injury was devastating. One of the things that kept me going was knowing that some day I'd be better again, and that I could do small things to work on recovery in the interim.
I want to support an organization that can provide that light in the distance to those who have physical challenges that can hinder their ability to engage in athletic activities. So, I'm raising money for the Challenged Athletes Foundation.
I've joined athletes from all over the world to join together in the Strava Run and Ride for a Reason Challenge to run, ride, and raise money for causes that have made it their mission to make our planet, ourselves and our fellow humans healthier and happier. I'm participating to raise money for CHALLENGED ATHLETES INC. Please support my efforts and help me make a difference. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
Before my injury, I had given myself a goal of riding 2016 miles this year. It's mid November and I've got 400 miles to go, after a lot of catchup over the past month or so. I want to hold myself to my original goal, despite the injury!
